Sustainability Aspects: 48% less environmental impact then Tetrapak packs or HDPE milk bottle when recycled/composted

Green bottle

GreenBottle is made of two parts: a sturdy paper outer shell and an inner liner made of recycled plastic which holds the milk and keeps it fresh.
The paper outer is made of recycled paper and is compostable and biodegradable – it will break down naturally when disposed of on a compost heap.
To recycle, the bottle has been designed to be split apart so that the paper can be disposed of in paper recycling and the inner liner either placed in your general waste bin or placed in the plastic recycling stream where local facilities exist.
GreenBottle is recyclable, compostable and biodegradable – a ‘Planet Friendly’ alternative to plastic bottles.

An english supermarket chain did a test with a lining of PLA (polylactid acid which is a biopolymer), showing that the material didn’t release harmfull elements into the contained liquids
