Using evaporation to cool the air

Sustainability Aspects: This air conditioner only uses electricity for the fan to increase the air flow that is cooled not for the cooling itself

Cold pot

A porrous terracotta pot, 2 liter water and a small fan together cool the air from room temperature to about 10 degrees Celsius. The terra cotta absorbs water from a two liter reservoir on the inside which seeps through to the outer surface and then evaporates. In the process of the H2O turning from a liquid into a gas, the terracotta, and an aluminum pipe on the inside, dramatically cool down. And a quiet electric-powered fan on the inside circulates air past that cold pipe and out into the room.
