Sustainability Aspects: Measure to know what you doing is good or not

The Story

Marjan and I wish you all a happy and creative 2012! With lot’s of ideas for beautiful new products that people love and keep for many years and that have a smaller burden on the environment.

The new year starts with a new dataset for eco-cost and Life cycle analysis. Even more materials and processes are included! If you have made LCA’s on this platform already they still are as you made them, based on the 2010-set. If you add new materials/processes etc to it, they will be from the new 2012 set of data. The new data still includes BEES but unfortunately not for all materials or processes there is BEES data available. All materials/processes/transportation/energy etc have however eco-cost (a compound of cost to prevent the impact of the item), CO2 equivelents in kg, and Recipe (the european standard).

The new eco-costs per material are a little higher then in the old dataset. Evolving insight in impact of emissions and the prevention cost to reduce the impact.
